Free Website Health Check
Free Website Health Check
Check your site's speed, SEO and Core Web Vitals in about 30 seconds.
What Does the Website Health Check Test?
The health check runs your page through Google PageSpeed Insights – the same Lighthouse engine Google uses to evaluate websites. In about 30 seconds you get a score from 0 to 100 in four areas, combined into one overall health score:
- Performance – how quickly your page loads and becomes usable.
- SEO – the technical basics search engines need, such as titles, meta descriptions, crawlable links and a mobile-friendly layout.
- Accessibility – whether everyone, including people using screen readers, can use your site.
- Best Practices – security and modern web standards, such as HTTPS and avoiding outdated code.
You also get a list of the most important issues to fix, ranked by how much they affect your score.
Core Web Vitals Explained
Core Web Vitals are three metrics Google uses to measure real-world user experience:
- Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) – how fast the main content appears. Good: under 2.5 seconds.
- Interaction to Next Paint (INP) – how quickly the page responds when someone clicks or taps. Good: under 200 milliseconds.
- Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) – how much the layout jumps around while loading. Good: under 0.1.
When Google has enough data from real Chrome visitors, the check shows those real-user numbers from the last 28 days. For smaller sites it shows lab measurements instead.
Why Website Speed and SEO Matter
A slow or poorly built website costs you twice. Visitors leave before the page has loaded, and Google is less likely to rank a page that gives a poor experience. If you run Google Ads, landing page experience is also part of your Quality Score – a weak landing page can mean higher costs per click and fewer conversions from the same budget.
How to Read Your Results
- 90–100 (green) – good. Keep an eye on it after updates and new apps.
- 50–89 (orange) – needs improvement. Start with the top issues in the list.
- 0–49 (red) – poor. These problems are very likely costing you visitors and sales.
Always check mobile first. Google ranks websites based on their mobile version, and most visitors arrive on their phones.
Common Issues and How to Fix Them
- Large images – compress them, use modern formats like WebP and serve them at the size they are shown.
- Too many scripts and apps – remove apps and tracking tags you no longer use, and load the rest only when needed.
- Missing titles or meta descriptions – give every page a unique title and description that tell searchers what the page offers.
- Images without alt text – add short, descriptive alt text so screen readers and search engines understand them.
- Layout shifts – set width and height on images and reserve space for banners and pop-ups.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the website health check free?
Yes. The check is completely free and you don't need to sign up. Enter any website address and you get your results in about 30 seconds.
Why does my score change between tests?
Lab tests are affected by server load and network conditions at the moment of testing, so scores can vary by a few points. Run the check two or three times to get a reliable picture.
Why is my mobile score lower than my desktop score?
The mobile test simulates a mid-range phone on a slower connection, which is closer to what many real visitors experience. That makes heavy pages score lower on mobile.
